Hollywood Vs Bollywood

There is a hierarchy of success followed in the film industry though it is not a registered procedure.

While the Kollywood folks want to make their mark in Tollywood, the Tollywood folks want to make their mark in Bollywood. As expected, the Bollywood folks want to make their mark in the Hollywood sector.

All said and done, the final destination is Hollywood so it comes as a big thing when Hollywood itself comes seeking people from our film circuits. But right now, the trend is changing. It is being noticed that some of the most sought after banners in Hollywood are now scouting for talents in the Indian film fraternity. As it is, with faces like Om Puri, Naseeruddin Shah, Aishwarya Rai making their mark in the international circuit, the focus has now got into the second level of actors.

Today, actors like Irrfan Khan, Sonu Sood, Ashmit Patel and even Kelly Dorjee are being contacted for roles. While this has been the case with heroes, even the heroines are not far behind. The sex bomb Mallika Sherawat is literally living in the US to strike it big, then there are others like Tannishta Chatterjee, Shabana Azmi, Freida Pinto etc who are making their mark. This in a way is a new trend as there is an international exchange happening. One can recall the instance wherein the superstar Sylvester Stallone did a cameo in ‘Kambakkht Ishq’ and also seen were Denise Richards, Brandon Routh and others.

Eventually, the day is not far when Tollywood might latch on to Hollywood and come up with ventures having Hollywood stars or a Telugu actor seen in an Hollywood flick. As such, Rajendra Prasad has already done such a stint as a south Indian cowboy in ‘Quick Gun Murugun’. So let us hope that such days of glory come soon
